Digital orthodontics

Orthodontic treatment in adult patients is becoming more and more relevant thanks to a wide range of fast, affordable and individually tailored treatments. Modern orthodontics, through the latest digital technologies and methodology, provides the opportunity to get a healthy and confident smile in the shortest possible time, with ideal accuracy. The mission of Nino Beridze Orthodontic Center is this: to give patients a confident smile, with less discomfort and a guarantee of care during the entire treatment process.

Just a few years ago, the term - digital orthodontics appeared, which in itself implies the use of digital technologies in the process of diagnosis, treatment planning and implementation. Digital orthodontic treatment is highly accurate and efficient, reducing treatment time and resulting in a healthy, dreamlike smile.

What is a 3D Orthodontic Scanner?

Digital intraoral scanner iTero is the latest generation digital orthodontic device, which makes the treatment process much more comfortable for both the patient and the doctor.

The iTero scanner is designed to deliver speed, accuracy and reliability. The capabilities of the device allow the doctor to make the most accurate diagnosis and plan the treatment. On the other hand, the patient:

• It takes less time to receive the service (scanning instead of taking a printout)

• Can see the 3D visual of the mouth on the screen with guaranteed accuracy

• The scanned file is automatically loaded into the database.

Without leaving the clinic, the patient can see how the result will be at the end of the treatment with braces.

In order for the doctor and the patient to assess the state of the oral cavity, detect abnormalities and make a treatment plan, the doctor conducts a scan of the oral cavity using the iTero scanner, which is the first in Georgia to be used in our clinic. iTero digitally captures the structure of teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is compact and convenient. A full mouth scan takes only two to three minutes, and as a result, a perfect, 3D image of the patient's teeth and soft tissues is displayed on the screen. The patient and the doctor have the opportunity to view the 3D model of the oral cavity in detail with the help of the "touch screen" during the consultation and discuss the existing disorders. We use the iTero scanner during any orthodontic treatment, including treatment with Invisalign - invisible caps.

The main advantage of this scanner is that it allows us (even before treatment) to see a simulation of the patient's treatment result so that he can visualize what his healthy smile could look like after orthodontic treatment.

What is a three-dimensional tomography machine?

Planmeca ProMax® 3D Plus is a state-of-the-art three-dimensional tomography machine that allows the doctor to see the joints, jaws and airways with great magnification. The advantage of the device is its minimal and completely safe radiation frequency for both adults and small patients. In addition, the 3D tomography device completely fits the patient, which makes the examination even faster, safer and more comfortable. The three-dimensional apparatus covers both the upper and lower jaw, as well as the right and left joints in one shot.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign are almost invisible, transparent, removable caps that allow a complete transformation of the smile using innovative 3D visualization technology, computer modeling and individual parameters. This is the last generation brace-system replacement device introduced in orthodontics and is fully adjusted to the comfort of the user. His certified orthodontist, Nino Beridze, carries out Invisalign treatment in our clinic.

Invisalign braces SmartTrack - are made of special medical, comfortable and durable plastic of the highest quality, which precisely fits the teeth and straightens the dentition without any metal additives. Aligners cope with orthodontic problems of varying complexity and are the only ones that correct even complex occlusal anomalies with less discomfort. When treated with invisible Invisalign, the number of visits to the doctor and treatment time are reduced, visual discomfort is reduced, and the process of eating and hygiene procedures is simplified, since the caps can be removed at this time.

Invisalign treatment with us includes several stages:

The first step is diagnosis - the doctor evaluates the condition of the patient's mouth. For diagnosis, the iTero scanner is used, which displays a 3D model of the oral cavity on the "touchscreen" in just 2-3 minutes. Together with the doctor, the patient examines his oral cavity in detail, discusses the existing problems, and the doctor draws up a treatment plan with complete accuracy. With iTero, it is possible to preview the results of Invisalign treatment at the first visit. The doctor will order a series of unique Invisalign braces with up to 12 brackets to gradually move the teeth according to the treatment plan.

At the next visit, the patient will receive a series of fabricated aligners and the first cap will be fitted.

Now, the success of the process depends only on the patient. Caps should be worn by the patient 20-22 hours a day and removed only during feeding and hygiene procedures. Periodically, with an interval of 6-8 weeks, visits to the doctor are necessary, during which he will evaluate the progress of the treatment. Aligners move the teeth in strictly controlled and synchronized movements. At each stage, only certain teeth move, depending on the planned process. On average, Invisalign treatment lasts from 6 to 18 months, and this period is determined by the complexity of the case.

The treatment is completed after the patient has used all the aligners. At the end of the treatment, it is necessary to make retainers at night, periodically, according to the doctor's recommendation, it is necessary to wear them during the day as well.

The team at NB Orthodontic dentistry cares for you - for your confident smile.
