Tooth seal

Sealing as the process of filling a cavity or covering a defect involves the use of different types of materials. The purpose of sealing is to hermetically fill the internal structures of the tooth and isolate it from the environment, to restore the function and color of the tooth shape.

According to the purpose, modern bristles are divided into 4 groups: materials for direct and indirect flossing of teeth, hermetic materials and materials for flossing of root canals.

Materials for direct brushing of teeth:

1. Temporary suspension materials;

2. Litigation materials;

3. Permanent switching materials;

Consider each of them:

Temporary dentures are used when it is impossible to treat a tooth in one visit. They are used for a short time to hermetically close or fill the cool tissue defects of the tooth. There are different types of bandages and temporary bandages depending on the duration of the bandage. Wraps are applied for a period of 1-14 days, while temporary wraps are applied for a period of several weeks to half a year. To date, beam-resistant temporary materials have been developed that are distinguished by ease of insertion and removal.

The purpose of the coating material is to create an intermediate layer between the base material and the tooth tissue. The need to create a given layer is due to the biological, aesthetic and strength aspects. The lining performs the function of separation (insulation). Surface materials in turn are divided into medical and insulating coatings.

The healing coating performs a therapeutic and protective function, first of all, against the living pulp (nerve) of the tooth.

Materials for permanent brushing of teeth

Today, there are numerous modern bracing materials on the dental market that are distinguished by high strength and safety. They are used to restore teeth, including those damaged by caries.

According to the composition, permanent spots are divided into:

1. Cement - The most popular glass ionomer cement today, it provides maintenance of the tooth structure as a result of its remineralization and at the same time meets the aesthetic parameters.

2. Metal-amalgam - is called an alloy of one or more metals with silver. All amalgams are characterized by high mechanical properties, but its color can not really withstand criticism. At present, this type of staining is not done in Georgia, however, probably everyone has seen it. Actively used in the West, insured patients only do this sting.

3. Polymer breakage materials:

Plastics - In dentistry, plastics are traditionally referred to as materials based on acrylic or epoxy monomers. They are characterized by low molecular weight of the monomer, toxicity, less hardness, unstable color, and due to high rates of wear and water absorption, in the oral cavity they may become a suitable area for the development of some species of microorganisms.
Chemical activation composites (chemical, self-adhesive). Mainly represented by paste-paste system. One component contains a chemical activator and the other a polymerization initiator. Mixing them produces a polymerization reaction.
Light-curing composites (radiation-curing, photopolymers, helium materials) are single-component pastes that are factory-made and packaged. The polymerization reaction is initiated by a visible blue color with a wavelength of 450-550 nm. As a result of the action of light, the initiator of polymerization disintegrates and causes the development of a complex of reactions, resulting in the formation of free radicals and polymer chains. The advantage of these spots lies in the large assortment of colors, high strength and the best aesthetic quality. Their positive feature is the high color fastness.
In addition to brushing a tooth with a normal toothbrush, in the case of decayed teeth, they are restored through a toothbrush. It could be metal or fiberglass. To do this, the canal must be brushed and the tooth reinforced with a squeegee.

Before brushing a tooth, the dentist drills a carious cavity. The tooth will then be disinfected and finally, decayed.

In order to serve you for a long time, it is desirable to fulfill the following conditions:

Follow oral hygiene, brush your teeth twice a day, after meals in the morning and at bedtime in the evening.
Use additional hygiene items: floss (dental floss), interdental brushes, or irrigator. It is almost impossible to clean all the spaces with a brush alone.
Perform professional teeth cleaning twice a year.
